Vietnam. A country of no strategic importance or valuable goods. From a historical point of view, there was no need or gains that would come from the US invading this indigent region. History, however, was at a point that deemed control of this country of extremity importance in world politics. From a strategic and governmental view, the war was an absolutely necessary and even though many feel the US had lost, they were better off than had they just remained resistless and allowed Communism to spread. More than anything, the Vietnam War was a message to the residue of the world that the US could, and more importantly would, engage in conflict in attempt to ensure that democracy remain the prevalent political and economical ideology existent across the world.
