Japanese Elementary School

When I was a third grader, we had to move to Japan for a year because of my Fathers sabbatical job at Kiyoto University. As a kid I had a combine feeling of excitement and fear. I was excited to go and buy the farm in a nonher country; however, at the same snip I was scared to go to rail. I knew that I would not be able to understand their language. On the first daylight when I arrived at Kiyoto, my father took us to an elementary school near our house for registration. It was only a five trice walk from my house to school, and there was a rail passage in between. When I got to the school my eyes opened as wide as a three inch match. At the first sight, I was shocked as I see their enormous elementary school and their huge yard with a big playground. I was in a hurry to go and see other places at school. My mind was frozen, because they have in truth small houses and based on my observations of houses, I did not pass judgment to see this huge elementary school. The first day was luxuriant of surprises for me. This experience taught me how antithetic schools can be in different countries.
As we were walking inside the school during the break time, perfectly we grabbed everyones attention. Is this their first time seeing a foreigners at their school?!! Then we kept walking toward the office and treat their glances.

Not much later an officer came to us and tell something in Japanese, which none of us could understand. He then pointed at their extra sandals next to the door. Right after, we looked at the students feet and we saw all of them wearing sandals and walking in the hallways. We understand what he was trying to say. So we changed our shoes and went to the office. Their sandals were like feathers on our feet. After my parents finished our registration, someone came to give us a tour around the school. During the tour in the hallways, I could taste the sounds of musical instrument and kids laughter.
