Taverns became very important in political and social instuitions in revolutionary Massachusetts because it was one of the few places that you could socialize with freedom. The better and the uneducated, would come and join together to have drinks, discuss politics and policies. It made it easier on workforce who couldnt read or write to learn more about the revolution. Political men would meet and have very important meetings about diverse policies, new ideas for America. Before the newspaper was being distri stilled, the taverns were very a important source of information about what was dismission on the colonies.
